The estates of parliament, now presentlie conveend by vertue of the last act of the last parliament haldine be his matie and thrie estates in anno 1641, ratifies, approves and confirmes the gifte and donatioune granted be his matie wndir the privie seale, of the dait the nyntene day of November anno 1642, to and in favoures of the kirke off ane yeerlie duetie of fyve hundreth pund sterling appoynted and ordenit to be payed to the collector to be appoynted by the generall assemblie out of the reddiest of his maties rentes and revenues quhatsomevir yeerlie and termlie at tuo termes in the yeer, Candilmes and Lambes proportionally, and to be distributed and imployed yeerlie by the generall assemblies for the use and necessities mentioned in the said gifte and other commoun necessities and effaires of the kirke, as the said gift at lenth proportes, in all and sindrie heads, articles, clauss and conditiones therof in all poyntes; and the estates declaires that the foirsaid gifte and this present ratificatioune therof is and shall be ane sufficient and valied right to the kirke and hir collectors for bruikeing, possessing and uplifting the foirsaid yeerlie dewtie yeerlie and termlie, conforme to the tennor of the said gifte and this present ratificatioune therof, and that this ratificatioune is and shall be alse valied as if the foirsaid gifte wer insert verbatim heirintill, quheranent and anent all defectes and imperfectiones, if any be in the said gifte, the saides estates dispenss for evir.
