Precept to Robert Lockhart

The estates of parliament, presentlie conveend by vertew of the last act last parliament haldine be his matie and estates in anno 1641, be thir presentes gives precept and warrand to the thesaurer or collector generall of the excise and to the commisseres or intromettoures with the moneyes barrowed for the use of the publict to make payment to Robert Lockhart, merchand burges of Edinburghe, executor confirmed to umqhile Johne Fleming, merchand burges therof, or to any haveand his power and warrand, out of the first and reddiest of the excise or barrowed moneyes quhilke shall be exacted, uplifted or barrowed for the use of the publict within the burghe of Edinburgh off the soume of sevine thousand and tuo hundreth pundis Scots advanced be the said umqhile Johne Flemying to the factores of Campheir the fyftene day of Junii 1640 yeeres, with the annualrent of the samene soume of sevine thousand and tuo hundreth pundes sen Mertimes 1642 yeeres, quhilke is that pairt and portione payed and advanced be the said umqhile Johne Flemyng to the factores at Campheir off the pryces of the armes and ammunitioun sent home be the factors for the use of the publict to this cuntrie the tyme of the late troubles, and quherof the frie royall burrowes and ther burgess respective, advanceres and payeres therof to the factours at Campheir, are ordeined to be repayed be ordinance of the parliament out of the said excise and barrowed moneyes within ther owne burghes respective, conforme to the act and ordinance made heirwpoun of the dait heirof, quhairanent thir presentes shall be a sufficient warrand.
