Anent the supplicatioune givine in to the estates of parliament, now presentlie convenit by vertew of the last act of the last parliament haldine be his matie and thrie estates in anno 1641, be Dame Margaret Hammiltoun, ladie Carnegie desyreing that shoe may be repayed of the ten thousand pundes advanced be hir out of hir affectione to satisfie the publict and pressing service for the good cause then in hand for the erle of Carnewathes fyne of the lyke soume of ten thousand pundes, for payment quherof shoe got ane act of the committie of estates, with ane assignatione from Williame Thomsone for intromissioun with the erle of Carnewathes rentes and otheres, and thereftir ane precept to the said Williame Thomsone be the committie for repayment to hir of the said principall soume and annualrent therof wpoun the redelyvering of his assignatione; as also desyreing that the said soume and annualrentes therof might be payed to hir of the tuentie thousand merkes acclamed be the publict as belonging to the erle of Carnewath. Quhilke supplicatione, being red in audience of the parliament and the desyre therof hard and considdered be the estates of parliament, the saides estates remittes and recommendis the supplicantes tymeous and reddie payment of hir principall soume and annualrentes therof to the committie appoynted be the estates of parliament for the barroweing of money and takeing ordor with the malignantes rentes, to be considdered be that committie that with all convenient diligence the said Dame Margaret Hammiltoun, supplicant, may be payed of the foirsaid soume of ten thousand pundes Scottes and annualrentes therof as the said committy shall thinke fitting for hir tymeous and reddie payment.
