The estates of parliament gives power and warrand to the proveist and baillies of Edinburgh and ordeanes them to search cairfully what fugitives and runnawayes are in Edinburgh, Leith and Cannogait and suburbes therof or within ony other pairt of ther jurisdictioune and to apprehend them and accordinglie punish them as is appoynted be the prented act made anent fugitives and runawayes, quheranent these presentes shall be there warrand.
