The estates of parliament, now presently conveind by vertew of the last act of the last parliament haldine be his matie and thrie estates in anno 1641, haveing hard and considdered the report made in audience of the parliament be the erle of Lanerke, preses of the committy appoynted for regulating the process of these citate to the parliament, anent the supplicatione givine in to that committy be Robert Maxwell of Connochtrie desyreing that the horss, oxine and ky to the nomber of threttie sex heid of oxine and ky with fyve, sex or [...]and meires perteaneing to the supplicant, estimat to tua thousand merkes plwndered and takine away fra him be Major Weir and Robert Gordoune of the Grange, commissarie deput, and Williame Laurie, his subdeput, and ther associates, might be restored and delyvered bake to the supplicant or pryce therof foirsaid, with ane competent soume for the supplicantes chairges and imprisonement, being incarcerat in Kirkecudbright, Drumfreis and Edinburgh thrie monethes and now set at libertie, being fund innocent, as the supplicatione more fullie proportes. The saides estates, in respect that the said Robert Maxwell, supplicant, is liberat of his imprisonement and fund frie be the parliament of ony challenge that is laid to his chairge, ordeines the saids Majore Weir, Robert Gordoune, commissarie deput, and Williame Laury, his subdeput, and all others intromettores with or haveres of the said Robert Maxwell, supplicant, his saides goodes or ony of them properlie perteyneing to him to restore and delyver the samene bake agane to the said Robert Maxwell, and ordeines the committie of warr of Drumfreis and governor of the toun of Drumfreis to assist the supplicant anent the restitutioune to him of his saides goodes and to cause his saides goodes properlie perteineing to him be restored bake to him, conforme to the ordinance abovewrittin, sieing he is liberat be the parliament and fund frie of ony challeng that is laid to his chairge as said is, quheranent thir presentes shall be a sufficient warrand.
