Anent the supplicatione givine in to the estates of parliament be Thomas Nicolsone, burges of Aberdene, David Kempt, messinger, William Johnestoun, William Scot, serjand in Aberdene, Thomas Loudiane ther, William Steill ther, John Broun there, Johne Menie ther, Andrew Cruikshank ther, Alexander Cruikshank ther, John Hendersone ther, William Scrogie ther, Peiter Skeddomay ther, Johne Aiknet ther, Johne McKie ther and James Rany there, desyreing the parliament to deligat so many of ther owne nomber, or ony other as they please, to be judges by commissione to take precognitione of the criminall persut intentit by the instigatioune of Sir Alexander Gordoun of Cluny at the instance of the relict, bairnes and freindis of umqhile William Broun and at the instance of the said laird of Cluny befor the justice aganes the supplicantes abovenamed for the pretendit slauchter of the said umqhile William Broun, and to appoynt such dyetes as the estates should thinke fit for this effect; and, in the meane tyme, to give warrand to the justice to continowe the dyetes aganes the supplicantes to sick tyme as the judges delegate shall report the precognitione to be tane be them to the parliament, as the said supplicatione at mair lenth beires. Quhilke supplicatioune being red in audience of the parliament and the samene, with the desyre therof abovementionat, tane in consideratione be the estates of parliament, the saids estates ordeanes the justice and justice deputes foirsaids to take the tryell and probatioune of the haill circumstances of the bussines abovespecified, and thereftir, befor puting of the samene to the knowledge of ane assyise, ordeanes the justice and his deputes to make report of ther procedor to the haill parliament and estates therof, and ordeanes this to be done with all expeditione; and, in the meanetyme, dischairges the justice and his saids deputes of any farder proceiding except as is before ordeanit whill the said report.
