The quhilke day the estates of parliament, now presently conveind be vertew of the last act made in the last parliament haldin be his matie and the thrie estates in anno 1641, haveing tane to consideration ane supplicatione givine in to the parliament be Johne, lord Fleymeing, makand mentione that Sir Williame Fleymeing, his brother, ane of his maties ordinar serveandis, heiring of the seiknes of Johne, erle of Wigtoune, ther father, wes come to Cairleill only of intentione to sie his seike father befor his deceis, not presumeing to come within the cuntrie without ane pass; and therfore desyreing licence to come within this kingdome to the effect foirsaid, and there to stay sicke tyme as the parliament should appoynt, and that he might pas and repas without trouble; or otherwayes to grant licence to the said Johne, lord Fleymeing to pas to some pairt of the border quhair the said Lord Fleymeing may most conveniently speike with the said Sir Williame, his brother, conserneing ther owne effaires allenerly in the company and before whom the parliament should thinke fitt, as the said supplicatione proportis. The saidis estates grants warrand and licence to the said Johne, lord Flemying to pas to ony pairt of the south borderes of this kingdome where he may maist conveniently meit with the said Sir Williame Fleymeing, his brother, in the presence and heireing of Mr George Douglas of Pinzearie and Mr Alexander McGoune, minister at Mouswall, at any tyme betuixt the dait heirof and the tuenty day of Junii instant inclusive, the saids Mr George Douglas and Mr Alexander McGoune being allwayes present and auditors of what is to be spokine and of the conference that shalbe betuixt the said Johne, lord Fleymeing and the said Sir Williame Fleymeing, his brother. And the estates ordeanes the foirsaid meiting, speich and conferance of the said Johne, lord Fleymeing with the said Sir Williame Flemyng, his brother, to be in the presence and heireing of the saids Mr George Douglas and Mr Alexander McGowne and to be concludit and endit betuixt and the said tuenty day of Junii instant inclusive as said is.

The estates of parliament ordeanes Major Fraiser and Johne Tueidy, comissars, to muster the troup of Sir Mungo Campbell of Laweres, collonell, the morne wpoun Bruntsfeild Linkes according to the accustomed order in such a caise. And being mustered and enrolled, ordeanes Williame Thomsone to make payment to such as shalbe mustered, officeres and souldieres, of ane monethes pay, for the quhilke thir presentes shalbe a sufficient warrand.

The estates of parliament, now presently conveind be vertue of the last act of the last parliament haldin be his matie and the thrie estates in anno 1641, haveing takine to there consideration the procedor and deportement of Johne, lord Balmerino in the dischairge of the place of president in the last parliament, they find that he hath worthily, faithfully and every way commendably acquitt himselfe in that chairge and expressed therin all the induementes and qualityes requisit for that eminent place to the full satisfactione of the haill estates of parliament. And therfor they have not only exonered and dischairged him of his cariage and service in the said place, bot lykewayes doe approve his haill deportments therin, and deservedly give him this just testimony: that in all things incumbent to that chairge, he behaved himselfe as became ane worthy patriot, mereiting publict thankes fra the whole body of this kingdome.

The estates grantes poure to the justice clerke and justice deputes, or ony of them thrie, who shall receive orderes from the committie for the process, to examene sicke pairties and witness as they shall be appoynted be the said committie to examene.
