Forsameikle as dureing the tyme of this convention and ensueing parliament the most part of the members of the committee of estats will be employed in these judicatories, and it being necessar that in that tyme all meanes be used for bringing in of money for the use of the publict, and that a committee be appoynted still to attend the same, thairfore the estats nominats and appoynts the earl of Cassills, Lauderdail, Lanerick, Yester, Forrester, Barganie, justice clerk, Preston, Denmylne, Bogie, Sir Archibald Campbel, Pitlethie, Sir William Dick, Archibald Sydserfe, James Stuart [and] George Gardin, or anie seven of thame, to be a committee to call before thame suche persons as are able to len or be thair credit can raise money to len such soumes as the committee sall think fitting, and to give publict suretie als fullie as the committee of estats might have done, and with power to thame to setling anie difference anent the uplifting of the excyse and to take course for uplifting of malignants rents.
