The convention of estates nominatis and appoyntis the earles of Glencairne, Cassillis, Lauderdaill, Barglie, Loure, Halkertoun, Carnock, Kemnay, Greenock, Denmylne, Edinburgh, Dundie, Aberdeene, Glasgow and Lithgow (or anie nyne of them, their being tua of eache estate) and the chancellor to be supernumerarie, to meit the morne at aucht houres and to consider on the most just and equal way least prejudiciall to the kingdome and most sure and beneficiall to the armies in England and Ireland for procureing of credit, quherupon a present soume of money may be raised for a present supplie of these armies and for their future releiffe incaice of necessitie, and that be way of excise or be anie other better or more expedit way, and to report their oppinion to the estates.

The estates doe declaire that in the division of the great committie to be in tuo quorums, one to be with the armie and another to remaine in this kingdome, the meaneing of the estats wes cumulative and not privative in so farre as anie on[e] of the saidis tuo committies is, notwithstanding of this division, a member of both committies, as he sall have occasion to be present and hes als free voice and place in either of the committies as if he wer particularlie named.

Forsamekle as the comittie of estates haveing employed Hew Kennedie, provest of Air, to hyre and furnish some ships for carieing of foure thousand bolls of meale to Ireland for the use of the Scotis armie there, and promised be their act to sie the charges he sould be putt to in keeping, embarking and transporting the said meale repayed to him, and he haveing now given this accompt theirof extending in all to elleventh hundreth, threttie fyve punds Scottis sixteene shilline, and the same being revised and sufficientlie instructed before be the convention, and they finding it reasonable that the same sould be payed, theirfore the convention of estates ordaines and comandis the Lord Humbie and Williame Thomesone, his deputt, to pey the said soume of elleventh hundreth, threttie fyve punds sixteene shilline to the said Hew Kennedie out of the readiest publict moneyis being in his hand, quheranent thir presents with the parteis recept sall be their warrand.

The estates nominatis and appoyntis David Kennedie, James Ker and Thomas Kincaid and Nehemiach Touche to be surgeons in the armie presentlie sent frome this kingdome into England, and that eache of them sall have the charge of tuo regimentis joyned in one brigad as they sall be directed be the lord generall and comittie with the armie, for which service the estates modifies the soume of fyfteene pund sterline to be presentlie payed to eache one of them for furnisheing of thair kist, and fyve shilline sterline of daylie allowance to eache surgeon, and foure shilline to his tuo mates, halfe a croune daylie for mantenance of tuo baggage horse, and three shilline daylie for mantenance of three sadle horse, and that there be a moneths pay advanced for their outreike and furnisheing their horses, and ordaines William Thomsone to pey the saids 15 lib. and monethes advance to eache of them.
