The erle of Southerland protested that the calling and voiceing of the erle of Marishall befor him in this convention should be without prejudice of his right and precedence befor the said erle of Marishell; and the erle of Marishell protested in the contrary.
The erle of Glencarne protested that the ranking, calling and voiceing of the erle of Eglintoun befor him in this present convention should be withhout prejudice of his right and precedence or of any processe intendit by him against the said erle of Eglinton theranent; and the erle of Eglinton protested in the contrare.
The erles of Dumfreis, Queensberry, Southesk, Weemiss and Airlie protested that the ranking, voiceing and calling of the erle of Lindesay befor thame in this present convention should be withhout prejudice of thair right and precedence befor him, they being in actuall possession ten yeirs erles whill he wes onlie a lord; and the erle of Lindesay protested in the contrary in respect of the date of his patent.
The erle of Calandar protested that the ranking and voiceing of the erle of Leven befor him shall be without prejudice of his right and precedencie, conforme to the date of his patent; and the erle of Leven protested in the contrary, in respect he sate as erle in the last parliament wher the erle of Calander sat only as a lord, and that his maties hes by his letter signed with his hand signified and declared that his intention wes ever that the erle of Leven should have the precedencie.
The Lord Borthwick protested that the ranking, calling and voiceing of the Lord Yester befor him in this present convention should be without prejudice of his right and precedencie befor the said Lord Yester.
