Supplicatioune be Colonell Cochrane, shewing the maner and reasones of his convoyance and stay from Jhone Smithis hous and offering to goe thither upon warrand for his receptioune, and to underlye all tryall of what is laid to his charge, red in audience of his majestie and parliament, who commandis the said Colonell Cochrane to be imprisoned within the tolbuith of Edinburgh.
The lord generall being callit befoir his majestie and parliament, togidder with the provest of Edinburgh, it was recommendit to the generall to advyse and sett downe some solid course for preveining any prejudice which may aryse be the confluence of people to the towne and thair frequent repair upon the streettis thairof and that all proceidingis may be peaceable and regular. And for that effect appointis the lord chancellar, the Erle of Lothiane, the Lord Amont for the nobilitie; the Lairds of Dun, Cambo and Murthill for the gentrie; James Cochrane, the commissioners of Aberdein and Glasgow to meitt with the generall in his hous this efternoone at two hours.
The lord generall exhibited ane petitioune from Generall Ruthven, laite governour of the castle of Edinburgh, desyring his majestie and parliamentis gratious favour and forgivenes, which was red in audience of his majestie and parliament, who appointis ane dowble thairof to be gevin to everie estaite and the act of parliament for his forfalture to be produced.
Dispensatioune graunted to the shirref of Air to hold courtis for actiounes and service of brievis.
Dispensatioune graunted to the provest and baillies of Glasgow to hold courtis for actiounes and service of brievis.
Appointis the parliament to meitt the morne at nyne hours.
