Appointis the committe for the billis to meitt this efternoone preciselie and to advyse upon the nature of the billis produced and to report thair opinione thairanent.
Supplicatione be the Laird of McIntosh and his brother, complaining upon the Laird of Glengarie for the slaughter of two gentilmen, thair friendis, and horting some others, red in audience of his majestie and parliament, who appointed ane maissir to wairne yong Glengairie to appeir befoir the parliament.
Supplicatioune from the Universitie of Sanct Andrewis, craving some supplie of maintenance and offering the nottis of thair present revenues, red in audience of his majestie and parliament. His majestie was graciouslie pleassed to declair that he was content himselfe to receave these nottis.
Supplicatioune be some indwellers of the south countrie complaining upon the gouvernour of Carleill for detaining thair goodis red in audience of his majestie and estaittis of parliament.
The Laird of Glengarie, younger, compeirand personallie befoir the parliament, desyred the supplicatione exhibited against him to sie that he may be advysed thairwith whill the morne, quhilk the parliament grauntis, Glengarie acting himselfe and finding cautioune to appeir befoir the parliament the morne, and not to goe out of towne in the meintyme under the paine of ten thowsand merkis. Lyke as the said Glengarie, younger, personallie present, in face of his majestie and parliament, acted, bound and obleist himselfe judiciallie to compeir befoir the parliament the morne betuix ten and twelfe hours, and in the mein tyme, not to goe of towne under the paine of ten thowsand merkis modified presentlie be the parliament, to answer to the desyre of the said supplicatioune. And the Laird of McClaude, also personallie present, did judiciallie bind and obleis him as cautioner for the said Glengarie to the effect and under the paine abonewrittin. And Glengarie acted himselfe for his releife, whairupon the supplicatioune wes delyvered to Glengarie.
Mentioune being maid this day of the kingis majesties declaratione and act following thairupon anent the committing of Langtoune, the kingis majestie and estaittis of parliament ordaines the first pairt of that declaratioune making mentione of Langtoune to be omitted out of the recoird and only the last generall pairt to be recoirdit, viz: that his majestie, for himselfe and his successours, declairs that heirefter he will not committ any member of the hous without thair awin advyse for any misdemeanor in tyme of parliament.
