Protestatione for Robert Leslie againes the ratificationes of the giftis of the beshopes rentes of Orknay, with the kingis declaratioun thairanent

In presence of the kingis majestie and estates of parliament William, erle of Lanarke, secreetare to his majestie, personallie present, protestit that any ratificationes granted in this present parliament in favors of the burghe of Edinburghe or ony otheres of any gifte, right or dispositione granted be his majestie to them of the rentes, teyndis and other dewties of the beshoprike of Orkney sould be allwayes but prejudice to Robert Leslie of the gifte, take or other right granted be the king to him of the rentes and dewties of the foirsaid beshoprike of Orknay. Lykas his majestie declaired in parliament that he abode be the gifte granted be his hienes to the said Robert Leslie of the rentes and dewties of the foirsaid beshoprike of Orknay as being first done, and that his majestie preferrit the samene gifte granted be him to the said Robert Leslie of the rentes and dewties of the beshoprike of Orknay to all other giftes granted be his hienes therof to any otheres; quhairwpoun the said Williame, erle of Lanarke, in name of the said Robert Leslie, askit instrumentes.
