In presence of the kingis majestie and estates of parliament, Archbald, marques of Argyle, erle of Kintyre, lord Lorne, personallie present, protestit that the ratificatione granted in this present parliament in favoures of the proveist, baillies, counsell and commontie of the burghe of Dumbartane of ther rightes, infeftmentes, liberties and priviledges sould be nowayes prejudiciall to him, his aires and successoures anent any rightes, infeftmentes, priviledges and liberties granted to him, his authoures and predicessoures; and therwpoun askit instrumentes.
