In presence of the kingis majestie and estates of parliament, compeered personallie Robert Hepburne, advocat, as procurator for and in name and behalfe of Gilbert, erle of Erroll, and in name of the said erle gave in and produced this paper and protestatioune falloweing, viz: I, Gilbert, erle of Erroll, heighe constable of Scotland and Johne, erle of Kinghorne, my tutor testamentar, doe protest that what evir hes past in this present sessioune or in any formar sessiones of this present parliament or in any other preceeding parliament conserneing the liberties, priviledges and extent of my place and office of highe constabularie foirsaid and power and jurisdictione therof, and whatsoevir elles hes bene acted and done ather in the parliament or in the cuntrie wherin the office of highe constabularie may be conserned, shall not prejudge me nor my successoures in the rights and priviledges dew to my place and office foirsaid.
