Our soverane lord and estates of this present parliament ratifies, approves and confirmes the chartour and infeftment granted be his majestie, with consent of the lordis and otheres of his hienes exchekker of this kingdome wnder his hienes great seale in favoures of umquhile Williame, erle of Queenesberrie, lord Douglas of Hawick and Tibberes etc., in lyferent and of his hienes right trust cousigne James, now erle of Queenesberrie, therine designit James, lord Drumlangrige, his sone, and the aires maill laufullie to be procreat betuixt him and Dame Margaret Stewart, his spous, quhilkes failyieing, the said James, erle of Queenesberrie, his aires maill and assigneyes whatsomevir heritablie, off all and haill the landis, barrony and regalitie of Drumlangrige and all and sindrie the other landis, lordshipes, barronyes, regalitie, burghe in barrony, advocationes, donationes, rightes of patronages and otheres speciallie and generallie therin sett doune, and of the new gifte, donatione and dispositione thairincontenit, and new unioun, creatioune and incorporatioune thairof in ane haill and free erldome, lordshipe, barrony, regalitie and justiciarie, with free chappell and chancellarie within the haill boundis and merches thairof, callit the erldome of Quenesberrie and lordshipe of Drumlangrige, with the tytle, style and dignitie of ane erle, according to the dait of the said umquhile erle his patent therof, and of the free burghe in barrony and regalitie within the haill boundis biggit or to be biggit, constructed and directed† wpoun the ground of Dallgarnok, to be callit in all tymecomeing the burghe in barrony and regality of Dallgarnok, with all landis, tenementes, aikeres, cottages, houss, biggingis, yairdis, toftes, croftes and all ther pertinentes within the haill boundis and territorie therof assignit and distinat or to be assignit and destinat therto be the said umquhile Williame, erle of Queenesberrie, or be his hienes said right trust cusigne James, now erle of Quenesberrie and his foirsaidis, and of the priviledges and liberties whatsomevir belonging therto, and of the taxt holdingis and other holdingis whatsomevir therincontenit, off the dait at Oatlandis, the sevint day of Julii, jM vjC therttie sex yeeres, and with the precept and instrument of seasing falloweing therwpoun, in all and sindrie the heedis, poyntes, clauss, articles, circumstances and conditiones whatsomevir therinconteanit, and eftir the formes and tennoures of the samene in all poyntes. And willes and grantes this present ratificatione and confirmatione of the said infeftment to be alse valied, effectuall and sufficient to his hienes said right trest cusigne, James, now erle of Quenesberrie and his foirsaidis in all respectes and conditions, as if the said infeftment verbatim de verbo in verbum wer heerin expreslie, speciallie and generallie and particularlie expressed, insert, set doune, ratified and confirmed; quhairanent, and with all other defectes and imperfectiones of the said infeftment and this present ratificatione therof, our said soverane lord and estates foirsaidis hes dispensit and, be thir presentes, dispenses for evir.
