Ratificatione in favoures of the old and neu colledges of Aberdeene

Our soverane lord and estates of parliament, considering that forsameekle as it hes pleased his sacred majestie out of his royall zeale and fatherlie affectioune to the grouth and increase of religioune within this his majesties ancient and native kingdome, be his signatour of mortificatione, daited the aucht day of November instant, to unit and erect the tuo colledges of Abirdeene, viz: the old colledge thairof and the new, callit Mershelles Colledge, in ane joynt universitie, to be callit in all tyme comeing King Charles Universitie, and to found, mortifie and dispone to the saidis colledges, and to the principalles, professoures, regentes and other memberes of the said universitie and colledges thairof the haill fewmailles, fewfermes, teyndis and other rentes that perteyned of before to the late beshoprike of Abirdene, temporalitie and spirituality therof, as fallowes, viz.: tuo pairtes thairof to the said old colledge and ane third pairt to the said new colledge, to be distribute amonge the professoures and foundit persones of the said universitie be his majesties commissioneres and visitoures appoynted or to be appoynted for that effect in maner at lenth specified in the said signatour. Thairfore his majestie and estates of parliament ratifies, approves and confirmes the foirsaid signatour and mortificatione, with the chartour appoynted to fallow therwpoun, in all and sindrie heedis, articles and circumstances therof, and willis and grantes and, for his majestie and his successoures, with consent of the estates of parliament, decernes and ordeanes this present confirmatione to be alse sufficient and effectuall to the principalles, professoures, regentes and other memberes of the said joynt universitie now present and there successoures in tymecomeing as if the foirsaid signatour and chartour of mortificatione followeing thairupoun wer word be word insert heerine, quhairanent and with all that may fallowe therwpoun his majestie and estates of parliament dispenses for evir. And farder, his majestie and estates of parliament hes dissolved and, be thir presentes, dissolves all and sindrie the fewmailles, fewfermes, teyndis, teynd dueties and otheres mentionat in the said signatour from his majesties croune and patrimony therof and fra the beshoprike of Abirdene and fra all other benefices whatsoevir wherunto the samene were annexit of before, and suppreses and extinguishes the name and memorie of the said beshoprike of Abirdene in all tymecomeing to the effect the foirsaidis few mailles, few fermes, teyndis, teynd dueties and otheres foirsaidis that belonged to the said laite beshoprike of befor may remaine with the principalls, professoures, regentes and other members of the said joynt universitie of Abirdene, callit King Charles Universitie, as ane testimony of his majesties favour perpetuallie in all tymecomeing, exceptand allwayes furth of thir presentes the teyndis, personage and viccarage, of the kirke of Saint Nicolas, with the right of patronage of the said kirke done in favoures of the proveist, baillies and counsell of the burghe of Abirdene and ther successoures, to the quhilke the said mortificatione nor thir presentes shall nowayes be extendit, reserveing also to the Erle Mershall and his successoures, his right of presentation of the principall and regentes of the said colledge, mershell and other rightes and priviledges perteaneing to him and his predicessoures be the first fundacion and erectione of the said colledge.
