Our soverane lord, with advyse and consent of the estates of this present parliament, ratifies and approves the three particulare chartoures eftirspecified, with the taks and valuatione of teyndis wnderwrittin, viz: ane chartour granted be his majestie to the said Johne, erle of Traquair, his aires maill and assigneyes whatsomevir of the dait, wnder the great seale, the tuelffe day of Februar, jM vjC thertie and nyne yeeres, off all and haill the eight pund land of old extent of Eister Horsburghe, alias Nether Horsburghe, of the landis callit the barony of Horsburghe, with tour, fortalice, maner place, houss, biggingis, yairdis, mylnes, mylnelandis, multeres, tennents, tennendries, service of free tennentes thairof, pairtes, pendicles and pertinentes of the samene; all and haill the landis of Houpkelzeo Wester, with the mylne, mylnelandis, multours, pairtes, pendicles and pertinentes thairof as for the principall, and in speciall warrandyce and securitie thairof, all and haill the landis lyand wpoun the eist syde of the burne of Drumalzear, with mylne, mylnelandis, multours, annexis, connexis, pairtes, pendicles and pertinentes thairof whatsomevir; all and haill the landis of Eister Hoipkeilzeo, callit Cardrono, with tour, biggingis, fortalice, houss, pairtes, pendicles and pertinentes thairof whatsomevir; all and haill the ten pund land of Ormestoun with the hauches therof, callit Boaremoarshauche, Dornehauche and Dorne Gait, with tour, fortalice, maner place, houss, biggingis, yairdes, toftes, croftes, pairtes, pendicles and pertinentes thairof; all and haill the personage and viccarage teyndis of the kirkis of Hoipkailzeo, Innerlethen and Lyntoune with the advocatione, donatione and right of patronage therof; the advocatione, donatione and right of patronage of the kirke of Etlstoun; all and haill fyve husband landis of the landis of Bold, extending to ane fyve merke land of old extent, with the pertinentes; all and haill the landis and barrony of Maner, the landis of Henderlande, Broomelaw and Brigend with the manerplace of Henderland, and with all and sindrie houss, biggings, yairdis, toftes, croftes, outsettes, annexis, connexis, pasturages, pairtes, pendicles and pertinents thairof; all and haill the lands of Pirne, lyand wpoun the west syde of the water of Leithane, and of all and haill the kirkelandis of Innerleithane, all lyand within the shereffdome of Peebles; and of all and haill the mineralles of gold, silver, copper, leid, yrone, tyne and other mineralles whatsoevir within the boundis of the saids landis, with the pertinentes, alsweell perteyneing to the said erle in propertie as in superioritie haldin of his majestie, as also within the boundis of all other landis perteyneing to him, alsweell holdine of his hienes as of any other superiours, now erected in ane free barrony callit the barrony of Horsburghe, to be holdine of our said soverane lord and his hienes successoures in maner and for payment of the dewties mentionat in the said chartour, quhilke is of the daite wnder the great seale abovewrittin, with the new gifte, ratificatione and unione thairin specified; ane wther chairtour granted be his majestie to the said Johne, erle of Traquair, his aires or assigneyes whatsomevir, of all and haill the landis of Hangingshewe, Gaitshawfeild, Panmuir, Sinlawes, Litle Heuche and Nether Chatto, with all and sindrie pairtes, pendicles and pertinentes thairof, all lyand within the parochine of Howname and shereffdome of Roxburghe, to be holdine of his majestie and his hienes successoures in maner mentionat in the said chairtour, quhilke is of the dait wnder the great seale the sevint day of Junii 1633 yeeres; and ane wther chartour granted be his said majestie† to the said erle, his aires maill and assigneyes whatsomevir of all and haill the kirkelandis or gleibe of the paroche kirke of Peibles, lyand within the shereffdome of Peebles, perteaneing to the viccarag thairof in maner mentionate in the said chartour, reserveand to the viccare of Peebles and his successoures the mansione of the said viccarage, houss and yaird thairof with three aikeres of the said kirke land for his gleibe, conforme to the act of parliament, to be holdine of our said soverane lord in fewferme for payment of the few duetie mentionat in the said chartour, quhilke chartour is of the dait the tuentie sext day of Julii 1634 yeeres; togidder with the seasingis falloweing wpoun the saidis three chartoures, ane take and assidatione made and set be umquhill Walter, erle of Buccleughe, takismane of the teyndis, personage and viccarage, of the paroche kirke and parochine of Saintmarie kirke in the Lowes, to the said Johne, erle of Traquair, his aires maill and assigneyes, off the dait the third day of August, jM vjC thertie tuo yeeres, off all and sindrie the teyndshaves and otheres teyndis, bothe great and small, personage and viccarage, of the landis of Blackehous, the halfe of the landis of Plora, the landis of Berriebushe, the lands of Escheisteill, and the halfe of the landis of Fauldishoipe, with all ther pairtes, pendicles and pertinentes, lyand within the said shereffdom of Selkirke, for the said Johne, erle of Traquair his lyfetyme, and nynteene yeeres efter his deceise, for payment of the duetie mentionate in the said take, with the decreete of valuatione pronounced be the commissioneres of parliament for surrenderes and teyndis upoun the fyfteene day of Julii, jM vjC therttie sex yeeres, finding and declairing the landis wnderwrittin perteaneing hertibllie to the said Johne, erle of Traquair, to witt: the landis of Blackehouse, Douglascraige and Garlacleuch, the landis of Dryhope and Fernihope, the landis of Westerplora and the landis of Escheisteill to be worth in stocke and teynd the soume of three thousand and eight hundreth merkes, and the landis of Berribushe and Westerfauldshope to be worth in stocke and teynd fyve hundreth merkes, and that to be the constante rente communibus annis in the haill heides, articles, clauss and conditiones therof; decerneing and ordeaneing this present generall ratificatione to be alse valied, effectuall and sufficient to the said Johne, erle of Traquair and his foirsaidis as if the wrettis particularlie abovewrittin were at lenth and word be word insert heerintill, quhairanent his majestie, with consent foirsaid, hes dispensis and, be thir presentes, dispensis for evir.
