Ratificatione to the burghe of Dumbartane

Our soverane lord and estates of parliament ratifies, approves and perpetuallie confirmes all and sindrie chartours, infeftmentes, giftis, grantes, liberties, priviledges, rightes, tytles and securities whatsomevir made and granted be his majestie and his majesties most noble progenitours to and in favoures of the burghe of Dumbartane, proveist, baillies, counsell and commontie therof at any tyme bygone and actes of parliament and otheres rightes ratifieing the samene, of whatsomevir dait or daites, tennours or contents the samene be of, withall and sindrie liberties, priviledges, immunities, casualities, customes and dueties conteint therin, or wherof they and there predicessoures are and have beine in use and possessione at ony tyme bygone, with the libertie of thair faires of Patrikmes, Midsommer and Lambes and all otheres faires and mercates usit and wont haldine and to be holdine within the said burghe, libertie and territorie therof, with the keeping and ryding of the saidis faires and mercates and wplifting of all customes, impostes and other dueties whatsomevir usit and wont to be payed in the samene sicklyke and alse freelie in all respectes as hes beene uplifted and takine in the saidis faires and mercates at ony tyme bygone; togidder with the office of shereffshipe within the said burghe, libertie and territorie thairof, asweell be land as water, with full power to hold courtes alse ofte and sua ofte as need bees within the said burghe, libertie and territorie therof or any pairt of the samene, and with libertie of court plant, herezeld, bluid and bluidweit, infangetheefe and outfangtheefe, pit and gallowes within the samene, absents to wnlaw and amerciat, transgressors to punishe, escheat, wnlawes and amerciamentes of the saidis courtes to wplifte, receive and apply the samene for the weell of the said burghe, and if need bees to poynd and distrenyie therfor as accordis, clerkes, serjandis, dempsteres, officeres and other memberes of court needfull to make, creat and cause be sworne, and to doe, use and exerce all other thingis necessar belonging to the saidis courtes of sherefshipe within the said burghe and libertie and territorie thairof, sykelyke and alse freelie in all respectes as is knowne to perteene to any other free burghe royall within this kingdome, or wherof they have beene in possessione at ony tyme bygane, conforme to the foirsaid rightes and infeftmentes mad and granted to the said burghe of Dumbartane as is before rehearsit in all and sindrie heidis, poyntes, articles, clauss, liberties, priviledges, immunities and circumstances therof. And his majestie and estates of parliament willis and grantes and, for his hienes and his successoures, decernes and ordeanes that this present confirmatione shall be alse sufficient and valied to the said burgh of Dumbartane, proveist, baillies, counsell and comountie thairof now present and ther successoures in all tymecoming as if the foirsaidis chairtoures, infeftmentes, giftes, grantes, donationes, offices, rightes, priviledges and liberties, particularlie and generalie abovexprest, were word be word exprest and set doune heirin, quhairanent, and with all defectes and inconvenientes, and with all objectiones and imperfectiones if ony be which may be opponit or alledged againes the validitie of the saidis infeftmentes, rightes, priviledges and otheres foirsaidis or of this present confirmatione therof, his majestie and estates of parliament hes dispensit and, be thir presents, dispenses for evir; and statutes and ordeanes that the foirsaids infeftmentes, giftes, grantes, donationes, liberties and priviledges respective foirsaid, with this present ratificatione therof, shall be ane absolute, wndoubted, valied and sufficient right to the proveist, baillies, counsell and commontie of the said burghe now present and ther successoures perpetuallie in all tymecomeing for bruikeing, using, joysing and possessing of the said burghe, landis, liberties, priviledges, offices and jurisdictione of shereffshipe and otheres respective, particularlie and generallie abovespecified, freelie, quyetlie, weell and in peace but ony impediment or interruptione to be made to theme therine in any sort, conforme to the foirsaids infeftmentes and otheris rightes, liberties and priviledges foirsaids granted and perteineing to the said burghe of Dumbartane in all poyntes. And his majestie and estates of parliament heerby dischairges all wther shereffis and ther deputes and officeres and otheres persones whatsomevir fra any troubling, stoping, molesting or impeding of the said burghe, proveist, baillies, counsell and commontie therof present and to come of any of the liberties, priviledges, offices and wtheres respective foirsaidis within the said burghe, libertie and territorie therof, aither be sea or land, in any tymecomeing, conforme to thair rightes and infeftmentes foirsaidis as said is, and ordeanes lettires of publicatione, concurrence and wther executur needfull to be directed heerwpoun in forme as effeires.
