Ratificatione to the maissones and wrightes of Edinburghe

Our soverane lord and estates of this present parliament, considering that ther wes ane act of counsell of the burghe of Edinburghe made and granted be the proveist, baillies, deane of gild, thesaurer, counsell and deacones of crafts of the samene burghe in favoures of the deacones of the maissones and wrightes for the tyme, for themselves and in name and behalfe of there said craftes and brethrene thairof, and als in name and behalfe of the haill couperes, glaissin wrightes, boweres, sklaiteres, painteres and otheres, there adherentes, conteaneing sindrie priviledges and liberties conceived in thair favoures, and conteyneing certane prohibitiones therin specified anent wnfreemen in the saidis craftis and otheres duelling within and aboute the samene burghe for inbringing and setting upe therin of workes belonging to there saidis crafts at lenth mentionat in the said act, as the samene of the dait the eighteene day of Apryle 1633 yeeres, wnder the seale of cause of the said burghe of Edinburghe, at mair lenth proportes, quhairof ther was ane confirmatione wnder his majesties great seale made in thair favoures, conteaneing the said act of counsell at lenth insert therin, as in the said confirmatione of the dait the eight day of August, the yeir of God jM vjC therttie fyve yeeres at mair lenth is conteyned; and his majestie and estates of this present parliament, finding the saidis act of counsell and confirmatione thairof to tend for the enabling of craftsmen in the craftes abovewrittin and for advanceing of policie within the said burghe, therfore our said soverane lord, with advyse and consent of the estates of this present parliament, haise ratified and approvine and, be thir presentes, ratifie and approve the foirsaid act of counsell and his majesties confirmatione thairof abovespecified of the daites respective abovewrittin in all pointes, articles and clauss thairinconteyned, efter the formes and tennoures thairof, and declaires this present generall ratification thairof to be alse sufficient as if the samene were at lenth and word be word insert heerintill, dispensing heerby with the not inserting thairof; and statutes and ordeanes the samene to stand as ane perpetuall lawe to the saidis craftes and ther successoures conforme to the tennoures thairof, and that all judges within this realme upoun any contraversie that shall occure anent the saidis liberties shall decerne conforme to the tennour of the said act of counsell and confirmacion thairof forsaid in all poyntes.
