The quhilk day the kingis majestie, with advyce and approbatione of the estates of parliament, nominated and elected Maister Alexander Gibsone, younger, of Durie to the place and office of clerke of register of this his heighnes ancient and native kingdome of Scotland and that ad vitam vell culpam, conforme to the act of this present parliament mad anent the electione of officeris of estat, counselleres and sessioneres wpoun the sexteene day of September last bypast. Lykeas his majestie, with advyce and approbatione foirsaid, gives and dispones to the said Maister Alexander Gibsone, younger, of Durie, ad vitam vell culpam as said is, the foirsaid office of clerke of register with all honoures, dignities, priviledges, proffeits, casualities and liberties perteaneing to the said office, conforme to the foirsaid act and to the gifte to be granted to him of the foirsaid office wnder his heighnes great seall, to be brooked and possest be him as the samene heath bene possest and brooked by any preceeding clerke of register and which may be now brooked by the lawes of this kingdome, and ordeanes ane gifte to be past and exped wnder his hienes great seale to the said Maister Alexander Gibsone of the foirsaid office of clerke of register with all honors, dignities, proffeites, casualities, liberties and priviledges belonging therto.
