The quhilk day, forsamekle as the kingis majestie and estates of parliament, haveing tane to consideracion the humble petitione of Generall Patrike Ruthven exhibited and seriouslie recommendit be the Lord Generall Leslie, erle of Levine, desyreing that his majestie and estates of parliament would be graciouslie pleased to restore him againes the decreet and sentance of foirfaultour givine and pronunceit aganes him in that sessione of this present parliament haldine in Junii 1640 yeires, hee being thene governor of the Castle of Edinburgh for the tyme, as the petitione conteyneing the reassones wherwpon he craves to be restored aganes the decreet of foirfaultor and the samene decreet to be reshindit more fullie proportes; his majestie and estates of parliament hes, for the reassones, respectes and considerationes knowne to them, and especiallie in respect of the earnest sut of the said Lord Generall Leslie, restorit and reponit, and heirby restores and repones, the said Generall Patrike Ruthven and his aires and successoures againes the foirsaid decreet and sentance of foirfaultour givine and pronunced againes him upoun the ellevinth day of Junii 1640 yeires, in that sessione foirsaid of this present parliament then holdine at Edinburghe as said is, at the instance of Robert, lord Burghlie, for himselfe as president of the said parliament for the tyme and in name of the estates of the kingdome, togidder with the sommondis and proces wherwpoun the foirsaid decreet and sentance of foirfaultoure proceidit. And alse his majestie and estates foirsaidis reshindis and anulles the foirsaid decreet and sentance of foirfaultor and process foirsaid wherwpoun the samene proceidit, and ordeanes the samene decreet and process, with the haill minutes, warrandis, recordis of parliament and probatione wherwpoun the sommondis was raisit and execut, and the decreet and sentance of foirfaultour respective givine and pronunced, to be altogider deleit out of the recordes and bookes of parliament. Lykeas his majestie and estates foirsaidis restores and repones the said Generall Patrik Ruthven to his honor, dignity of Lord Ettrike and his whole estate and meanes, good name and fame to be enjoyed, bruiked and possest be him, his aires and successoures in the samene maner as if the foirsaid decreet and sentance of foirfaultour had never beine pronunceit againest him.
