Act anente uncovenanting patrones

Oure soverane lord and estates of parliament, considering that all his majesties subjectes within this kingdome are by actes of parliament ordeaned to subscryve there Nationall Oath and Covenant. Therfore his majestie and estates ratifie and approve the act of parliament mad by his majesties father of blissed memorie par. 1, cap. 9, wherby it is ordeined that no persone be judge, procuratour, notar or member of court who professeth not the true religione, the togidder with the act of ratificatione therof, with additione and declaratione therof therinconteind mad by his majesties said umquhill father par. 20, cap. 3; and findis and declaires that the saidis actes shall be extendit to all persones whatsoevir who have not subscryved or refuse to subscryve the said Nationall Oath and Covenant. And suchlyke findis and declaires that where any of the saides refuiseres to subscryve right to presentatione of kirkis, that it shall not be laufull to them to present any persone to the kirkis vacand, but that the planting of the saidis kirks and admitting of the saidis ministeres therto and to the stipendis and provisiones therof wpon sut and calling of the congregatione shall perteene pleno jure to the presbetries within the which the saidis kirkes ly ay and whill the saides patrones subscryve the said Nationall Oath and Covenant.

Act for freeing of viccarrages provyded to ministeres for ther stipendis of taxationes

Oure soverane lord and estates of parliament, considering the distractiones that ministeres are brought wnto and other prejudices and losses susteened by them by taxationes craved of viccarrages which are assigned and provydit to them as a pairt of the stipendis, in so farre as they are assigned and provydit, and that it is againest all reasone and equity and former actes of parliament that ministeris stipendis should be burdeened with impositiones and taxatiounes, therfor statutes and ordeanes (for escheweing these inconveniences and prejudices) that no viccarage nor rentes therof, assigned and provydit or to be assigned or provydit to ministeris as a pairt of ther stipendis, be burdeened or afflicted with any taxatianes of impositiones bygone resting oweing wnpayed or in tyme comeing in so far as can be extendit to the saidis teyndis and rentes of viccarages assigned or to be assigned to them, and wherof they are or shall be in possessione by the saidis assignationes, bot declaires the same to be free therof in all tymecomeing.
