Ordinance of parliament anent the calling and compeirance of the Erle of Montrois and continuatione of his sommondes

The quhilke day the estates of parliament, eftir voyceing, ordeanes the Erle of Montrois to be brought doune himselfe in persone and to stand at the barr and in the place appoynted for these who ar citat to the parliament, lykas accordinglie Maister Rodger Mowat, Alexander Peirsone and Thomas Nicolsone compeirand for the persuaris, the Erle of Montrois personallie present at the bar, the saidis estatis of parliament continowes this mater wnto the tuentie fourt of August instant, with continuatioun of dayes. Wpoun the quhilkis calling, continuatione and defendares compeirance Maister Thomas Nicolsone for the publict asked instrumentes.

Therafter the Erle of Montrois offerit himselfe reddie to ansuer and desyrit no continuatione, and desyred the extract of the depositionis and paperis wherwpoun his sommounds is foundit and therwpoun askit instrumentes.

Ordinance in favoures of Johne McCulloch of Mertoun

The quhilke day the supplicatione givine in to the parliament be Johne McCulloche of Mertoune, desyreing that the commisser of Wigtoun may be dischairged to proceed in ony actione againes him dureing the siting of the parliament in respect he is ane commissioner therto, being red in audience of the parliament and the desyre therof considerit be the estates of parliament, they find the desyre therof reasonable and therefor dischairges the said commisser of all proceeding in any proces againes the supplicant dureing the siting of the parliament, and incaice any thing be done since the meiting of the parliament the estates declaires the samene to be null in the selfe.
