[Supplication continued; decreet arbitral between the Earl of Buccleuch and Francis Stewart ratified; act approved]

Continewis the supplicatione betuix Thomas Mure against the provest of Edinburgh whill Mooneday nixt.

Ratificatione of the decreit arbitrall pronuncit be his majestie betuix the Erle of Buckleugh and Francis Stewart, daittit 8 August 1631, with the article signed by his majestie and both pairties at Sanct James maid for explaning the said decreit, togidder with all other explanationes contained in his majesties severall lettrez thairanent. Sir Jhone Scott of Scottistarvett and Maistir William Scott of Clerkingtoune, tutours to the Erle of Buckleugh, with Maistir Thomas Nicolsone, procurator, compeirand in presence of the commissioneris grace articles, protested against the said ratificatione in so far as the same contained thir words 'togidder with all other explanationes contained in his majesties severall letters thairanent'. Maistir Robert Craig, procurator for Francis Stewart, askit instruments that the Erle of Bukleugh, his tutours and procurators opposit that claus of the ratificatione efter the saids explanationes wer sein by the Erle of Buckleugh, his tutours and procurators, and registerat by thair consent. Sir Jhone Scott and Maistir Thomas Nicolsone askit instruments that they opposit the said claus only becaus they had not sein the same nor bein acquented thairwith, and the same wes not now producit; and Maistir William Scott protestit for the Erle of Buckleugh, and the rest of the tutours quha will adheir to his protestationes, that the ratificatione of the articles signed at Sanct James be but prejudice of thair defenses as allowed of the law, the contraverted words being delete. The act producit by the noblemen of the committe for the peace of the north, togidder with the thrie actis producit by the baronis for that effect and ane act against the McGregours, delyvered to the Marquis of Huntlie to be shewin to the noblemen.

The commissione for the justiciarie upon the water of Ythane continewed till Mooneday, that the Erle of Erroll may be hard. And the act delyvered to Auldbar.

Act against mining of tin red, voited and past in articles.
