Procedure: protests; asking of instruments

The same day comperit James, duke of Lennox and protestit that the ratificatioun past in this present parliament in favours of Johne Oliphant of Bachiltoun sall be nowayes prejudiciall to him, his richts, priveledges and infeftments quhilks he hes of and concerning the saidis lands or any pairt thairof, bot the samyn sall remaine inteir to the said James, duke of Lennox, his airs and successors wnhurt or prejudgit thairby. Quhilk protestatione his majestie and estates of parliament admitted, quhairupon the said James, duke of Lennox askit instruments.
