Act in favour of the Lord of Lowdoun

Oure soverane lord, with advyse and consent of the thrie estates of this present parliament, ratifies and approves the chartor maid and grantit be his majesties umquhile darrest father of eternall memorie wnder the great seale of the dait at Edinburgh, the second day of Marche, the yeir of God jM vjC and tuentie yeirs, to and in favours of Dame Margaret Campbell, lady Lowdoun, thairin designit eldest lawfull dochter to umquhile George, maister of Lowdoun, and spous to Johne, lord of Lowdoun, quha was thairin designit Sir Johne Campbell, knicht, eldest lawfull sone to Sir James Campbell of Lawers, knicht, in lyfrent during the space thairin mentionat, of the lands of Sorne, Blairmalloche and Blairkip and certane uther lands and uthers thairin contenit; and to and in favours of the said Johne, lord of Lowdoun, his airs male and assignais thairin specifiet, of the lands and barony of Martinhame and sundrie uthers lands, baronies and uthers thairin specifiet, with the precept and instrument of sasing following thairupon in all and sundrie pointes, heads, articles and clauses thairincontenit, eftir the formes and tennors thairof and that allanerlie in sa far as the saidis chartor, precept and instrument of sasing following thairupon concernes or may be extendit to the lands, baronies and uthers eftirmentionat, viz: the saidis lands and baronie of Martinhame, the lands and baronie of Tarrinyeane, the lands of Dowchray, the kirk lands of Lowdoun, and the patronages of the kirks of Auchinleck and Lowdoun, personages and viccarages thairof. And siclyk ratifies and approves the chartor maid and grantit be his majestie (being designit for the tyme Charles, prince of Scotland and Walles, duike of Rothesay, Albanie, Cornwall and Chester) under his hienes seale, quhilk is of the dait the tuentie saxt day of July, the yeir of God jM vjC and tuentie yeirs, to and in favours of the said Dame Margaret Campbell in lyfrent during the space thairinmentionat of the lands of Hoodstoun, Brydinstoun, Boigsyde and of certane uther lands thairincontenit, and to and in favours of the said Johne, lord of Lowdoun, his airs and assignais thairinspecifiet of the lands and baronies of Eister and Wester Lowdounes, and of sundrie uthers lands, baronies and uthers thairinmentionat, with the precept and instrument of sasing following upon the samyn chartor; and lykwayes ane contract of wodsett past betuix his majestie, with consent of his hienes thesaurer principall and thesaurer deputte and remanent lords of his majesties exchecker of this realme one the ane pairt, and the said Johne, lord of Lowdoun one the uther pairt, of the dait the thretteine day of Apryll and fyft day of August, the yeir of God jM vjC and threttie yeirs, togider with the chartor maid and grantit be his majestie wnder his hienes great seale proceiding upon the said contract, with the precept and instrument of sasing following thairupon in all and sundrie pointes, articles and clauses thairin contenit eftir the formes and tennors thairof. Lykas his majestie, with advyse and consent forsaid, wills, statuites and ordaines that this present ratificatioun of the haill chartors, precepts, instruments of sasing and contract respective abonementionat is and sall be als guid and sufficient in all respects as if the samyne wer at lenth and word be word insert and ingrost heirintill, dispensing heirby with the not inserting thairof in this present ratificatioun; and als for wechtie and seine causes concerning the commoun weill finds, declares and ordaines the samyne infeftments, chartors, precepts, instruments of sasing and contract abonementionat to be guid, valeid and perfyte richts and secuirities quhairby the said Johne, lord of Lowdoun and his forsaidis and his lady abonenominat may injoy, bruik and possess the lands and uthers thairincontenit, eftir the formes and tennors thairof, and this present ratificatioun of the samyne in all pointes.
