The estaits, having heard and considderit the greevance givin in be the burrowes anent the patent grantit to the Lord Areskine for tanning of ledder, they have nominat and appointed and, be the tennour heirof, nominats and appoints and gives power and commissioun to the Lords Lovat, Torphichin, Burlie and Wemes, the Bishops of Argyle and Caithnes and to the Lairds of Corsehill, Westnisbit, Blair and Robert MacBrair to meit with suche of the commissioners of the burrowes as sall be directed to that effect, and to conveene the morne at eight of the clocke in the exchecker hous, and there to confer and reasoun anent the conveniencie of the said patent and of the forme and order prescryved for following out of the same, and if the worke be good and fitting to be continewed, and to consider of the meanes and wayes how the patentee sall be satisfied of the great charges and expenses whilks he hes susteanned in the prosecutioun of that service, and to report to the estaits upon Saturday nixt what they find thairin.
