Petition of Doctor George Stirling of Letham, craving payment for his father's service and medicaments as her majesty's apothecary and surgeon the space therein mentioned, read and remitted to the committee to consider and to report their opinion what shall be done thereupon.

Act in favour of [David Erskine], earl of Buchan read, and a first reading ordered to be marked thereon.

Petition for William Bain, brother to the deceased James Bain, moved and remitted to the committee to make a report relating thereto.

The process at the instance of Sir Patrick and James Ogilvie, elder and younger, of Boyne against their creditors called, and, being advised, protection was granted in the terms and with the qualities and reservations mentioned in the interlocutor thereupon.

Petition of George Dundas, merchant in Edinburgh, craving the continuation and renewing of a protection formerly granted, read, and, after debate thereupon, it was put to the vote grant the desire of the petition or not, and it carried grant, according to the deliverance thereupon.

Petition for the town of Queensferry in relation to shore duties read, and, after reasoning thereon, it was put to the vote grant the desire of the petition or not, and it carried grant, according to the deliverance thereupon.

Act for naturalization of Colonel Scipio Hill and other foreigners read a second time, and, after some additions made thereto, it was voted and approved.

Act in favour of [George MacKenzie], earl of Cromarty read a second time and voted and approved.

Act of naturalization in favour of John Henry Hueguetan, read a second time and voted and approved.

Overture for an act for burying in woollen read, and a first reading ordered to be marked thereon.

Act for preserving the game read a second time, and, after some amendments, voted and approved.

Agreed that the action on a protest for remedy of law at the instance of Sir Patrick Home against [Alexander Home], earl of Home be called the first day of private business.

Agreed that the petition for Robert Preston of that ilk and other subtacksmen of excise shall be taken into consideration the first sederunt for private business.

Petition of William Cochrane of Ferguslie, tacksman of the polls of 1699 and 1700, with the report of the commission of parliament anent public accounts in relation to the said polls, read and agreed that the same shall be taken into consideration the first of all private business.

Agreed that the action upon a protest for remedy of law at the instance of [William Morrison of] Prestongrange against Sir William Scott of Harden and his lady be called the first day of private business, after the action at the instance of Sir Patrick Home against [Alexander Home], earl of Home.

Petition for William Pyott, for himself and in name of his kinsmen and relations, for changing their name, read and the desire thereof granted.

Action of [Alexander] Colville of Kincardine against his creditors moved and agreed to be called next sederunt.

The action on a protest for remedy of law, [Rose Muirhead], lady Bredisholm against her father-in-law, called and the parties' procurators being heard thereupon, after reasoning, the vote was put adhere to the decreet of the lords or modify an aliment, and it carried adhere.

Then the lord chancellor, by order of her majesty's high commissioner, adjourned the parliament until Monday next at 10 o'clock.
