Overture of an act for an additional excise presented by [John Gordon], earl of Sutherland for satisfying the arrears due to the officers who have served since the revolution, read, and ordered to be printed.
The act appointing a fund for defraying the charges and expenses of the public ministers to be named by her majesty to attend the foreign treaties, again read and, after some amendments made upon the act, it was put to the vote, approve the act or not, and carried approve the act.
The act in favour of the town of Glasgow, again read and, after debate, it was put to the vote, grant to the town of Glasgow an imposition of 2d upon the pint of ale, brewed and vended, within the said town for the uses contained in the act and, after some amendments made upon the act, it was put to the vote, approve the act or not, and carried approve.

Ordered that the town of Glasgow cause print this act after extracting thereof, as also the act granted in 1693 in their favour.
Moved that this gift in favour of the town of Glasgow be burdened with payment of the sum of £3,600 to Mr James Anderson, writer to her majesty's signet, for enabling him to carry on an account of the ancient and original charters and seals of our king's preceding King James I in copper plates according to the ancient characters of the said charters, and the motion agreed to.
