Patent in favors of John Gray of Creichie to be Lord Gray, upon a resignation by Patrick, lord Gray, read and ordered to be recorded, wherupon he toke the oath of alleadgeance, subscribed the same with the assurance and tooke the oath of parliament.

Act of dissolution from the crown of the mines and mineralls within the dukedome of Queensberrie in favours of his grace James, duke of Queensberrie read a second time and voted and approven.

Petition of William Montgomerie, servitor to the lord chancellor, for ane allowance out of the dead stock of the Affrican Company, in consideration of his brother's losses and service in the expedition of the said company, read and ane allowance granted in the terms of a delyverance on the said petition.

Report brought in from the committee anent the payment of some debts found due by the Affrican and Indian Company not formerly stated out of the dead stock of the said company, and recomending severall other persons in consideration of their losses and sufferings to be payed out of the said dead stock, read and the report approven. As to the payment of the companies debts out of the dead stock, and the remainder of the said dead stock after payment of six hundred and fifty pound sterline formerly appointed to be payed furth thereof, and, after payment of the above debt, was granted to be applyed and divided amongst the persons mentioned in the said report and among the representatives of Mr Alexander Ogilvie, Andrew Brown, Hugh Ross and Captain Alexander Montgomerie, and non others, by such proportions as the committee shall think fitt, to whom the determination thereof is remitted.

Report of the committee anent the coyne againe read, and the first paragraph thereof thereafter read, and, after some debate thereon, the furder consideration adjourned till nixt sederunt of parliament.

Then the lord chancellour, by order of her majesties high commissioner, adjourned the parliament till Thursday nixt at ten of the clock.
