Minuts of the last sederunt read.
Then the debate mentioned in the former dayes minuts was resumed anent what proportions the barrons and burrows shall have of the fourty-five members that are to sitt in the house of comons of Great Brittain.
And thereupon a clause was offered to be insert in the act regulateing the manner of electing the representatives for Scotland in these terms: and her majestie, with advice and consent foresaid, statutes and ordains that thirty shall be the number of the barrons and fifteen the number of the burrows to represent this part of the United Kingdom in the house of comons of Great Brittain, and that no peer nor the eldest son of any peer can be chosen to represent aither shyre or burgh of this part of the United Kingdome in the said house of comons.
And after debate upon the first part of the said clause, the vote was stated, if the number shall be thirty for the barrons and fifteen for the burrows, yea or not.

But before voteing the earle of Cromarty gave in a protestation in the terms following, viz.
I, George, earle of Cromerty doe protest that nothing that shall be enacted as to the shyre of Cromerty, their being adjoyned to any other shyre, as to the method or manner of electing of commissioners to the parliament of Great Brittain, shall inferr any derogation to the priviledges of that shyre or to my right as heretable sheriff thereof, and took instruments thereupon.
Thereafter the vote was putt, if the number shall be thirty for the barrons and fifteen for the burrows, yea or not, and it caryed yea.
Then the lord chancellor, by order of her majesties' high commissioner, adjourned the parliament till Monday next at ten of the clock.
